    The new app began today and works well. Finally! For this change and the regular reporting and contents of The Week, it deserves 5 stars. For the lack of communication around the price increase this year, the involvement of a new digital provider and the difficulty people had in regaining digital access for weeks, no on play on words, leaves me with the impression that the administration of The Week feels unaccountable to its readership.   • The new “the week” app

    I cannot find the word to describe how dissatisfied I am with the new app. Thank goodness I also receive a print addition. A call to customer support is answered by directing me to their digital provider who cannot provide a product that recognizes my logonid. A one-star rating is too good, zero-star is appropriate.
  • App is a dud and price is doubled

    (Update): sadly, I’m not renewing after many years. The app remains a dud and suddenly the price is doubled. I emailed customer service and got a blanket, “this is the subscription price”. Such a pity. [further update]: BTW, you can still get The Week US through the ZINIO app for the prior price ($49.99/yr) Now the greatest weekly content feels like a B- blog. Content is great, but the functionality and appearance stinks. How could this be put out as an update? Who thought this was an improvement?
  • Latest version is terrible

    The only thing worse than the prior update is the latest one. The interface is a cluttered, counterintuitive mess that makes reading the magazine actively unpleasant. I’ve had it with this nonsense and am cancelling.
  • Price doubles with no warning

    I was excited to see “The Week” was going to be part of Apple News+ but that lasted onlyabout a week. None of that was well explained in “The Week” magazine or website. Was then excited with the recent App upgrade. It is much better. Then a few weeks later without warning the subscription price is now doubling immediately as of July 2019. Again no explanation on the website or magazine or developer replies to most of the App Store reviews. This is by far my favorite news magazine and I love reading it on my iPad. And your e-mailed daily newsletters are superb. Now that you have improved your iPad app, please improve the communication with your customers.

    Horrible app, and the latest upgrade has made it worse. I can’t download the newest magazine even though I’m getting charged every month. The content is amazing, I’ve been a subscriber for 3 years, but the glitches have exhausted my patience. Today I saw goodbye to The Week. Please blast an email when you fix this mess.

    Similar to others who have left a similar negative review, after the update it won’t recognize my email and tries to make me buy magazines after I’ve already paid for my subscription. Seems to happen often with their updates but this is the first time it just flat out won’t recognize my account. Love the magazine but the app is completely useless since it won’t recognize your subscription.

  • Why/how does this app keep getting worse?

    Seriously. Used to be dead simple to sync your account and start reading. Then the whole login system changed. And then it changed again. This is the most broken iteration yet. Are you all trying to push people to Reedly? If so, just say so. But in the meantime, I’m still on the hook for the digital subscription I paid for. So please provide a working app again.
